Israel and the Church

Part 2    Part 1     Part 3

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God
out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Please, never let anyone tell you that the body of Christ is the Bride of Christ.
Israel has a promise of an eartly kingdom. Israel inherits the lands of the earth.

and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

and will bring you into your own land.

but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee,
and thy land shall be married. BEULAH LAND: Please see definitions.

The kingdom of Christ is in heaven. The body of Christ is seated in heavenly places. (Eph 1:3)
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us
into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
1 Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings
      in heavenly places in Christ:
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto
his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Note: It does NOT say the heavenly kingdom but HIS heavenly kingdom.
The kingdom of heaven is New Jerusalem, the eternal inheretance for Israel.
Christ's kingdom is in heaven.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world,
then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

1 Corinthians 9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will,
a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Colossians 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you,
      to fulfil the word of God;
Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
BUT NOW is made manifest to his saints:
Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment
of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
2 Corinthians 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations,
there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me,
lest I should be exalted above measure.
Galatians 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles,
but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men,
      as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body,
and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Eph 3:6 "of the same body" NOT with Israel BUT the body of Christ. There is only ONE body of Christ.
We the Church, the body of Christ, are NOT Spiritual Israel.
"Spiritual Israel" is nowhere found in the Bible.

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits,
to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles,
and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Matthew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Luke 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Luke 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
God supplied all that they (Israel) needed.
Would you want to try to travel today according to Luke 10:4 ?
The Great Commission was giving to the disciples (Israel) and was NOT and
is NOT assigned to the Church, the body of Christ, who we are.
We are called Ambassadors, see 2 Corinthians 5:20

Galatians 2:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me,
as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;(see Acts 15)
Galatians 2:8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision,
the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace
      that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship;
that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
Circumcision = Israel            Un-Circumcision is other than Israel
The Great Commission was assigned to the disciples for the lost sheep
of the house of Israel.
AND Paul, by revelations from Christ, was sent to ALL people,
that ALL people could obtain salvation.

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep:
      for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations;
that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Numbers 16:38 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates
for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed:
and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 6:22 And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh,
and upon all his household, before our eyes:

      that thou talkest with me.
Numbers 14:22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt
      and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
Luke 23:8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season,
because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name,
when they saw the miracles which he did.

which he did on them that were diseased.

Acts 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what
miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
Miracles were a sign for the house of Israel.
The body of Christ has the completed WORD, scriptures to study and learn from.
The Holy Spirit baptizes us into the body of Christ and
gives us understanding of the word of truth rightly divided.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
When Paul received the completed scriptures, completing the Bible,
then "miracles, signs and wonders" fell away.

We, in the body of Christ, are saved and live "by grace".
Israel required signs and wonders and will again in times to come.
BUT, for us, in the body of Christ, we have the completed WORD.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
( YET Scriptures MUST BE rigthly divided. )

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When Saul (Paul) was first saved he taught in the synagogues and performed
many miracles and signs. BUT as Paul received progressive revelations from Christ
for the Church, the body of Christ, he lost the ability to do works of miracles and healing.
Remember that Paul was a devout Jew, he was a pharisee and a Roman citizen.
Remember that 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians and Romans
were written before the casting away of Israel. These churches were still under
the covenants of promise. They were made of Jews and proselyte Gentiles.
Jews and those that feared God.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Israel was bound to God's grace, faith and they had to do works of righteousness to be saved.

and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

Luke 1:5 THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias,
of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances
      of the Lord blameless.
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law,
then Christ is dead in vain.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy
      he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
